The Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) is recruiting for Child Support Operations Managers who, under general direction, plan, organize and oversee a large staff of subordinate supervisors in the operations of the department. These duties include establishment and enforcement of court orders, legal operations, program and policy, clerical functions and coordination and oversite of staff development and training.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:
EDUCATION: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed college coursework from an accredited institution in Public/Business Administration, Administration of Justice, Behavioral/Social Science, English, Math, Humanities or closely related field. Completion of the Management Leadership Academy (MLA) in San Bernardino County will be accepted toward the required coursework on the basis of 4 quarter units of credit per MLA track completed.

Transcripts or a listing of related coursework must be submitted with the application if the candidate does not possess an Associate's degree or higher in one of the qualifying fields of study mentioned above.

NOTE: Qualifying degrees or coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Degrees or coursework completed outside the U.S. must be accompanied with an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service showing equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education.

EXPERIENCE (applicant must meet one of the following two options):

Option 1: Three (3) years of experience supervising staff in a state or county Child Support Services agency.

Option 2: Three (3) years of management-level experience supervising multiple subordinate supervisors, technical or professional level staff in a large office setting or in a government human services program.
Desired Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is a leader who builds collaborative relationships internally and externally; empowers others to make decisions; understands the dynamics of organizational change; finds innovative ways to achieve department goals; is able to effectively plan, prioritize, and execute work; and has excellent communication skills. A Bachelor's degree or higher in one of the qualifying fields listed above is also highly desirable.
