Greetings and thank you for taking the time to visit PARMA.com regarding the 2010 PARMA Conference in Sacramento, California to be held February 16 – 19, 2010. Our theme this year is PARMA – Full Steam Ahead! It harkens to Sacramento’s roots in the railroad, it fits in with our welcome reception at the California State Railroad Museum but the theme means more than that. Times are tough and those in Public Agency Risk Management are acutely aware of that fact. PARMA supports those entities, PARMA supports our members and right now we say “Full Steam Ahead!” Our conference in Sacramento in February has been designed to keep cost low and value high. We know that right now no one knows what lies ahead around the bend but as we ready ourselves for a new conference, a new year and new challenges we say “Full Steam Ahead!”
This year’s keynote speaker, Lt, General Russel L. Honoré, USA (Ret.) will be addressing the audience with his message on “See First, Understand First, Act First: Leadership and Preparedness in the 21st Century – a message that resonates with all of the Public Agency Risk Managers throughout our great state as we balance our growing work load with diminishing resources and increasing risk. The following two and a half days of learning are a mix of our six focus areas – Workers’ Compensation, Risk Management, Insurance, Safety, Liability and Professional Development.
Please continue to return to the site for updates. All registration will open in July of 2009 so updates will be added prior to the commencement of registration. New for this year – hotel reservations cannot be made until conference registration is complete. For too many years now, our hotel block has sold out before the majority of attendees can register for the conference. This year we aim to prevent that problem by not only opening registration for exhibitors and attendees at the same time but also trying to ensure our hotel rooms are utilized by those people registered to attend.
